Sweet stock 1984 Gibson Les Paul Custom in stunning Cherry Sunburst here for your consideration. This is a fantastic player with totally stock parts and vibrant finish. Like any great player, someone loved and enjoyed this LP over the years, with some notable cosmetic imperfections but no major repairs. The photos tell the story here, with plenty of buckle rash and normal play wear, but some things of note here - First, the butt end of the guitar has evidence of a solid drop - with notable finish cracking between the strap button and the input jack. Secondly, there's some finish peeled away a bit near the tip of the cutaway as shown in the photo. Lastly, a relatively minor crack in the binding worth mentioning near the controls. All three of these issues are non-tragic and in no way compromise the overall structural integrity of the guitar, but are certainly worth a mention. This one is a factory "Second" as well.
This fine guitar is all original save the replaced strap buttons - with a very comfortable and fast medium-sized one-piece mahogany neck with ebony fretboard, original gold hardware highlighted by the Gibson/Schaller Speed winder Flip-Out crank tuners, black speed knobs, and of course the original Shaw pickups with the treble pickup retaining its "Pat Appl For" sticker on its pickup ring, and 3rd generation "Protector/Chainsaw" hardshell case included.
It plays and sounds just as awesome as you'd ever hope, with a neck that's bigger than "slim" but nowhere near the big reissues, with nice frets with plenty of life left, and resonates just wonderfully. The pickups are crushingly toneful - not too hot but cut through the mix so well while retaining that unmistakable fatness we seek in a great Les Paul. You won't be disappointed in this one, friends.
