Product Description

1982 was a real turning point for Fender. They had always been a company looking towards the future, endlessly changing and upgrading their classic models. For the first time they took a look backwards and returned to the original specs. These early Fender reissues were the first to feature real nitro lacquer paint jobs, Kluson type tuners, the original smaller Strat headstock, "spaghetti" logo, stamped steel bridge saddles, and all the other details that give them an authentic vintage vibe. These are some of the very last guitars built at the original Fullerton plant so it is very fitting and great way to turn off the lights.

This is a great specimen, early "00" serial number, great natural wear and checking marks, and a great weight at 7.5 lbs. No doubt that this one has been loved and played. As with a lot of guitars of this era it had been hot-rodded with some higher output Duncan pickups, but it still sounds like a good Strat, just with more ooomph to push your amp harder. Tuners holes had been enlarged for Schallers but there's now some conversion ferrules and Kluson styled tuners back on the guitar. Pots are original and date to early '82. Recent pro re-fret with modern medium sized wire. Non-original hard case included.
