The year was 1954, Leo Fender was hanging a clock and fell and bumped his head. It was then that he first envisioned the flex capaci.... er.... flex Stratocaster. Ok, well that's not true, but he did invent the Stratocaster in 1954 and it has remained largely unchanged ever since. This 75 has the classic tonewood combo with an ash body and all maple neck. Yes, it's 70s ash so this guitar feels like a Les Paul in weight. The neck has a good fit in the pocket and is not sloppy. We can't believe Fender hasn't made more hardtails over the years. It's nice to really be able to beat on a Strat like a Tele without fear of tuning issues of a tremolo/vibrato. The original F-tuners were replaced with a more reliable set of Kluson styled tuners and it looks the volume knobs and switch tip are new but other than that it is all original.
