Oh Mama! Big old Kay hollowbody in the house! Yes, this vintage Kay Upbeat has a big 17" lower bout and a big sound too. These "Kleenex box" pickups are some of the beefiest sounding pickups you'll find in any Kay with very healthy output. We love every inch of this one from the big Kelvonator headstock to the oversized and glittery bat-wing pickguard. Big 50s style neck, 25.5" scale, 1-5/8" wide at the nut. No breaks or repairs, just the normal small marks you'd expect to find a piece of this vintage and some areas where the binding has separated a little, just little gaps, it's not coming off. There are two knobs, volume and tone but the tone doesn't do a whole lot. It could be rewired easily with new caps/pots should you want more functionality. The bridge had to be shave down but the neck is straight so this one has a pretty good set-up. All in all a very cool old piece of guitar history.
