Yet another cool vintage Harmony in the shop! This time it's an H50 with quite a few interesting features that you don't see on most Harmony's. Guitar of this era are just full of well thought out appointments that you see on guitars of later periods. The headstock overlay is a work of art and really caps this beauty wonderfully and we love the knobs, pickup surround and tailpiece too. Also it seems weird to get worked up about a pickguard but this yellow marbled one is dead sexy. Oh let's not forget about that pickup! It's one we've only seen on one or two pieces and it's quite strong and is the highlight of the guitar and makes it a tone machine. The tailpiece looks like a vibrato arm and there is a spring in there but it's not the best design and doesn't get you much warble.
So no doubt this is a very cool piece but it also sadly lacks a truss rod and the neck has a decent ramp at the end of the fingerboard so it cannot be straightened without some work. It would make a great luthier project. Also, with all the cool parts it would be a good donor piece to soup up your own axe or for a scratch build. Due to these issues it is being sold as-is, no returns.
