Rock N Roll Vintage is located in 4740 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago. We offer complete guitar, bass and upright double bass repair and restoration services. We treat every instrument like it's belongs in our own collection. Whether you need a simple set up or fret dressing to a head stock repair or complete refret you've come to the right place.
We also do tube replacement, amp biasing and speaker reconing. We prefer to keep the original components and hardware on guitars however when we need to replace a pickup, tuner or other hardware or you request a modification we use the highest quality components available. We prefer to use Lollar, Fralin, Barden, Duncan, EGC, Norstrand and Tonepros pickups and parts or we can use parts you supply.
Our guitar repair shop offers a wide range Guitar Repair and Restoration services including guitar setups, fret dressing, fret crowning and leveling, fret polishing and refretting, leveling boards, structural repairs, crack repairs, gluing, bridge repairs, broken headstock repairs, refinishing, nut replacement, pickup replacement, pot and electronics work, strap button repairs, replacement parts and jack repairs to name a few.
Luthier Experience
Ben Frye is an accomplished Chicago Luthier. Ben's family established the first musical instrument repair and construction course at Minnesota State College in Red Wing Minnesota. Ben is a graduate of Red Wing and has been repairing guitars since the a age of 14. Ben's work includes guitar restoration for a national museum, repairing a guitar in the Graceland Elvis Presley Collection, repairing countless vintage guitars and upright double basses and founding Frye Guitars, specialists in custom built instruments, repairs and guitar restoration. Ben persoanlly guarantees the quality of his work.
Guitar Repair Drop Off and Pick Up
Guitars can be picked up and dropped off Monday, Wednesday and Friday Noon to 6 P.M. Tuesdays and Thursdays Noon to 7 P.M. and Saturdays Noon to 5 p.m. Free in-shop repair estimates ! Here's a little more information on our repair prices.
Customers can also ship guitars to us for repairs. Please contact us before shipping your guitar. We are easy to work with and all our mail in repairs are fully insured so don't hesitate to contact us about mail in guitar repairs.
